Finally made it to Govinda's for the first time and I'll definitely be coming back. The vibe is very friendly and welcoming, and food is delicious, and all vegetarian.
It's not fancy at all; it's kind of like going to your grandma's house for dinner (assuming your grandma makes vegetarian ethnic food).
As long as you know that's what you're getting, I don't see how you could be disappointed.

A few years ago my hubby and I were in Denver and when we found out there was a Govinda's there we headed straight for it. Hubby has eaten in the Govinda's in Tucson and so he wanted to introduce me to the one in Denver. I enjoyed the food very much and the atmosphere of the restaurant was so friendly. It was nice to find a place to eat that reminded me of home cooking.
We also visited the gift shop. Hubby bought a beautiful cotton shirt and I bought a beautiful cloth with elephants on it, which I just love. If we're ever back in Denver, we will definitely return to Govinda's. We ate there more then anywhere else during our visit. And we even introduced some friends to Govinda's who lived there who hadn't heard of it. They loved the food too.
The only bad thing was that here in Albuquerque we don't have a Govinda's...sure would be nice to see one some day. We'd definitely eat there.
